Janet Munson has lived in Tucson since 1980.  She has a BA in Elementary Education from University of Kentucky and a Masters degree from University of Louisville in Special Education. She recently retired from teaching 25 years in Tanque Verde School District working with teens with Learning and Emotional problems.  She specialized in teaching students strategies to develop functional learning and organizational skills winning an Arizona Golden Bell award and Masonic Teacher of the Year.

Janet has been a volunteer at Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) since 1990.  She received a Spirit of Philanthropy award from the Arizona Fundraising Professionals in 2006, the SAAF Volunteer Resources award in 2007, and the Volunteer of the Year award in 2008. As a volunteer, she is the Walker Recruitment chair for AIDSWALK and on the Senior Speakers Bureau.  Janet values diversity.

Janet is involved in mentoring and strategic coaching of teachers and presents workshops on Time Management for Teachers through the Pima County School  Superintendent's Regional Support Office. She also tutors middle school students in academic areas while helping them change organizational habits.
